Description
The challenge in this painting was to bring this Thoroughbred out of the dark background and into the light. I found him utterly captivating to begin with so that every brush stroke I took filled me with wonder and added to my already hopeless sense of "horse fever." Had I not been familiar with his particular bit and keeper, my initial drawing would have suffered but as it turns out, I used that very bit on my show horse years ago. This is my favorite painting to date and I found myself hoping that my client would forget to pick it up so that I could keep it !
